NOE 314365 mold?

Been looking at these molds lately for loading .303 brit. I like the fact they come in a 5 cavity mold, and they seem to be regarded as very good molds.

One that caught my eye was the 314365 mold. its a 200g spire point. One thing I am wondering is would the spire point be prone to deforming during chambering? If so would a slightly harder alloy cure this?

Any Input? If these are worth it I would not mind grabbing them in their 8mm and .308 varieties as well.
 
They were on sale last week for 15% off. I purchased a 311365 but have not used it yet. Generally the reviews I've found say they are not as accurate as the 311299 (314229) style but for the price I decided to take the plunge. I love my NOE molds. Wish our dollar wasn't so bad, it's really slowed down my mold purchases.
 
I've owned the Lyman version for over 50yrs, but can't speak to the NOE version. The original did just as well for me as 311299 in the standard .30 cals but the nose was too small to do really well in 303 Brit. Maybe NOE has a version that cures that, and their site has good drawings showing relevant dimensions. If you use a medium to hard alloy nose deformation shouldn't be a problem.

Good to hear. I might order up all three molds to save on shipping. Five cavity will be a major time savor over the two cavity lymann I have been using. Might add a 9mm mold to the order t round things off as well.

Thanks. One thing Im also wondering is would a lead bullet stand up to the action of a semi? I have an AR-10 in .308 and a FN-49 in 8mm that I would not mind casting for if possible.

I shoot a few semi's with cast. SKS, M305, T97 and Mini-14 in 6.8 SPC. The SKS and Mini are the easiest to shoot cast in as you can load up full power loads with cast no problems thanks to the relatively low velocity of the 2 rounds. SKS I use the Lee C312-155-2R and the Ruger sees NOE 279-129-RF. No problems. The T97 has a 1:7 twist rate so it's hard to get high velocity out of it. I'm being real careful as I don't want to have to scrub lead out of the barrel and gas system. The M305 does real well with the same Lee bullet as the SKS but I powder coat them and use low end jacketed H4895 data. Semi;s can shoot lead just fine, but getting them to cycle can be tricky. So far the T97 is only cycling powder coated loads. I don't find them nearly as accurate as greased bullets but the greased bullet loads don't come close to cycling. If they feed properly, heavy for caliber cast is easier to get to cycle than lighter bullets. One thing with cast in some semi's is you have to be 100% sure the nose does not engage the rifling as any chambering resistance can cause slam fires.
 
I use this boolit in my 303s,both Mk1No3 and Mk4No1.Mk4 has 2 groove barrel and shoots really good with this design providing I make them with WW or harder alloy.Mk1 is still work in progress but it looks promising too.
As for deformation of boolit you don't have to worry at all.With base of the boolit at the bottom of the neck OAL will be 3.175-it's too long to feed from magazine(maybe 2-3 rounds?) .
I'm shooting on the club range so single shot mode doesn't bother me at all.
