Noise?: AR15 vs Tavor vs T97

Hello,

I will start my question with a disclaimer: I do not own any of the above rifles.

My question is: under similar circumstances (same ammo, approximately the same barrel length), will any of these
rifles make more noise than another? I'm asking because 1) I will eventually buy one (or one each, in CGN spirit), and 2) I
remember shooting at the range next to short barreled ARs and Tavors (NR length) and my impression was that they
were both quite loud, AR being louder (barrel was probably 10.5-11"), and both definitely louder than my SKS and G22.

Short barrels and obnoxious muzzle breaks will certainly be louder than longer barrels and stock flash hiders... Tavors and T97s tend to not sport such features as tricked-out ARs...
 
The T97 muzzle will be closer to your ear than the muzzle of a conventional rifle with the same length barrel. Sound will be the same, but location is different.
 
Assuming the same barrel length and muzzle device, there should be no difference to anyone near the shooter. The shooter himself may experience more noise with either of the bullpups due to the proximity of his face to the muzzle/ejection port.
 
I've shot a 16 inch AR and I've shot my Tavor, I have not shot my T97 yet, mainly cause I'm tired of shooting.

My assessment, the Tavor is facking loud!!!
 
my i recommend the H&K SL8-4
not loud at all and a real nice piece of kit to own
grab the short railed mod and slap a nice scope on.
various add ons for it too.
