It was an interesting weekend. We had 19 shooters in total Sat morning, 9 sling/peep shooters and 10 Fr's (the missing F class shooter from the score sheet dropped out after his break on his 338 Lapua Mag could not be removed from his barrel, six 308's (4 with 155g and 2 with heavier bullets), one 6-250 and two remaining 338's).

We had lots of wind to say the least, with very limited mirage to read all weekend. Temps Sat and Sun ranged from 6 to 22 C

Saturday at 300M it started out sunny with winds at their lowest point for the weekend. It was a 10-12 o'clock switch running 20 km/h or about 12 mph with measured gusts to 18 mph.

By 500yd it was up to 31k (20mph) and after 500 we broke for lunch.

The wind after lunch was over the limit for the 600 yd targets so the 300M were installed again and we shot 300M in lieu of 600 yds for the days agg in 41+k (25+ mph) winds.

Did ya' see the tumbleweed/thistle take out the cameraman on the last one??? It's near the start of the last video.

Sunday at 800 yds and 900yds started out with limited light and clouds and a 6-5 o'clock tailwind around 25k (15 mph) and by the end 900 yds we were at 3-4 o'clock with the same wind speeds or higher. At the 1000, she was a 4-5 o'clock with slightly less winds speeds, but still challenging with the let ups and gusts we had all weekend.

Sunday (today) is the team match's at 600, 900 and 1000 and being a F class shooter, I did not attend since the Fr's could not make a 3 or 4 man team. The weather shows 26-33k winds from 10-12 o'clock and 10 to 20C temps and variable cloudy conditions.

Used old regular DCRA targets, 1 moa V bull, 2 moa 5 ring.

sweet report Keith... bummer about the f'ers and no team, now if we can get results from Ottawa's Vic Day

fergot... 385 nice shooting Keith!... gheeze too bad about the guy with the break... too bad he couldn't get it off... could he have been moved down a few positions so he could still shoot? I forget how many target you've got...

I guess if your paired up though that would mess things up... I was shooting right beside a guy with a break on Saturday. Brutal but it was just a practice and these were new guys so you don't want to be putting dampers on newbies. I guess these guys are rigging themselves for precision shooting etc... nice rigs... not for me but they were sweet still the same... must be getting old.

John we only have 6 frames so space is limited, plus with pairs to a frame.... makes for his pair partner getting handicapped by the WHOMP, plus lanes on either side.

This is why I included this in the report, so others know... Leave them brakes at home... "all in all, its just another brick in the wall.. da da... all in all....." (Waters/Pink Floyd)

You getting any shooting in yourself yet John?

You mean no one had a hacksaw to offer to help remove his brake:p Gordo didn't have something in the Queen Mary? Pipe wrench? cutting torch? bf hammer?

John, the results from Ottawa should be up just before the DCRA in Aug.
 
The problem really is the shooter here. He's been shooting with us for 3 or 4 years now and has a brake on everything :eek:. He knows the rules regarding brakes :confused: but every time he shows up, he has trunk full of guns :dancingbanana:, all with brakes and no tools to remove them :mad:. Three of us tried to get them off both his 308 and his 338 but they just were not being co-operative :sniper: I had a 15lb mallet with me, but he was having none of that:D:D

a bit but only practices so far... missed the Ottawa Vic day shoot

ya I seem to remember seeing photos and you don't have a lot of space with 6 frames... on the east side of Mons with have TRG#16 to #32 so we could space things out I suppose but I went to the line setup and after a couple of shot I hear and felt that whomp you're talking about...
sonofa#####... but it was too late to reorganize anything... Rick was holding an intro day and it was really their gig... just wished I had noticed his rig earlier... I'm pretty sure these guys are headed for precision shoots which is a good thing...

though I don't know how they do it, I mean if your trying to plug walkers, and pop-ups or them 3 second exposures and a break rifle goes of I think I'd be rattled... Terry knows more of this stuff he shoots those matches...

I only shoot open f... simple stuff...

Gordo wasn't there Tom...

hpbt... love the mallet line.. ha... here... we'll fix ya right up! ha
...expect a bit of a zero change but.....
