If you arw looking to make your gun more reliable. You look at out no jame mag follower and long life spring.
Other then polishing thr chamber. Changing the follower spring and extractor and sold 90% of all failure issues with and 870 shotgun.

I don't have too many problem with the extractor, my friend have so many problem though. But I will change my extrator too, I've got problem sometime.

My big problem is the follower. I'm suppose to put 6 rounds in the tube, but many time it jam to 4 or 5... I will check for a new follower too!

I have multiple guns with S and J followers and springs in them. The followers are so good I give them away as gifts to my shooting friends. The springs just work.

That won’t solve the problem if he has an extension. The purpose of the slots is to simply allow the follower to be installed in dimpled tubes. The follower could still get hung up on the dimples. If you have a dimples tube the only way to run an extension is to get rid of the dimples.
 
No dimples, I have the expresse tactical version of the 870, with the mag extension. The jam is probably always at the junction of the mag and extension. I will check the sjhardware!

follower type 1 or 2?

on the description of the "shotgun mag tube spring" it's indicated that it may be trimmed for fitting, do you think I will have to trim it on my express tactical?

If you have the standard 4 rd mag tube with the +2 it is likely hanging up on the gap and or bad fiting between the mag tube and the +2
U have to screw the nut down first then screw the tube on and apply the clamp.
With call that done if the tube has burs or any issues the follower will jam at times.
