Non-Prohib Fal?

nope not that ive ever heard anything new or old are automaticaly prohip b/c they use the FN FAL action even the new ones from DSA in the USA are prohib. Believe me i asked the same thing,

I have seen one in person that is not registered as 12x. I guess it was a mistake on the CFC's part but the cert says none-restricted.

Check the EE there are always a few that are willing to be de-watted. Shame if you ask me.

I have an Aussie L1A1 and an Ishapore IAI in inch pattern. Ive learned to like them better over the last few years. After the SAPs expired I worked with Norinco M14s / M305 but they weren't the same :(

A good semi-automatic 308 (7.62) is sadly missing for me ...

There was a thread I saw a while ago about some one who got authorization from the CFC to make his own from scratch which would be not prohibited and registered as something else. Might want to check for it.

I think you are referring to that SKS the guy dressed up with FAL parts. It isn't a FAL so it wouldn't be prohibited.

Not sure, I think he took some dewat fal parts and welded together his own receiver. I didn't look more into it. Ok so maybe not completely from scratch, but you get the idea.

I'd imagine there are a few out there that have worthless certificates saying they are either restricted or non-restricted, the reality is they are a prohib. Too bad, because in the last one hundred years there's only one service rifle that is not available in civilian form to those who served using it - the FN. Everyone who served in the Cold War gets the shaft.

If they were non-res, I would be seriously interested in getting either an L1A1 or a C1A1 version, but alas, I cannot.

I like the FAL, right after the M14.
