Non-res CX4?

Yep. You buy the restricted version, and have it re-barreled. Mine's currently sitting in the safe. Never seen the range since I've taken possession.

Is there such a thing?
I really dont like going to an "organized" range to shoot my firearms.

Have one myself in 9mm. Purchased re-barreled by Bits-of-Pieces. Costs about $500.00 before shipping to get it done. You can get the restricted version for about $900.00-$1000.00.

Worth every penny to take anywhere you can take a non-restricted rifle.

The ten-round Beretta 92 mags are also a bonus. ;)

The magazines stamped "Beretta 92" were designated for the Beretta 92 pistol only and using them in your Storm if re-classified as a non-restricted long gun would constitute a violation of the Firearms Act unless they are pinned to five rounds. Make sure your magazines have no marking or are not the "Beretta 92" magazines. Just giving you a heads up on this.

Then using the LAR mags in the AR15's (that are stamped PISTOL ONLY) would be illegal too, yet the RCMP has SPECIFICALLY stated, that as long as the magazine is completely un-modified, you can use it in AR15's.

The same goes for the CX4's, otherwise the RCMP would make all the magazines pinned to 5 rounds.

I think you have this mixed up. If they are stamped "STORM" they need to be pinned. Beretta 92 pistol mags are legal as 10 rounders, doesn't matter what they fit into. You can carry around loaded 10 round B 92 mags all day and no one can say anything, unlike say, unpinned 15 round mags of any sort.

The mags are regulated to 5 or 10 round capacity, not the firearm. Storm mags are designated for a rifle so they need to be pinned. No pistol mag needs to be pinned to 5....ever. 10 is the law.

That is how the LAR-15 mags work as well. Hope this helps. Kind of regret selling mine.....oh well...bigger and better things.:D

Sounds good. Then it's backwards. I do know that initially when the Storms came into Canada dealers had an issue with how the magazines were stamped as the CX4 wasn't designated a pistol however it had magazines that carried 10 rounds.

I don't believe that is correct. Unpinned mags of any capacity would be legal for .22 rimfire and any centerfire rifle that is not semi-auto (eg. slide, lever, and bolt actions). The anti-gunners are currently trying to divide us off those "evil semi-auto" centerfires.

Backwoods & F22 got it, the rest of you, the link to the regs is here http://laws.justice.gc.ca/en/showdoc/cr/SOR-98-462/bo-ga:s_7//en#anchorbo-ga:s_7

The issue was Beretta mags marked "storm" - these were prohibited as 10 rounders since they were specifically designed for a centerfire rifle. Its not the use of the magazine but the firearm the magazine was designed for. The non-marked CX4 mag is designed as a pistol mag and sold as a pistol mag... done.

wow. So the only difference between a prohib mag and nonprohib is that one says "CX4" on it?

Must have been a libtard that came up with that one.

Thanks for the info guys. Looks like im gonna have to start saving up.

Yup. I guess my mind was solely on 'any sort' of pistol mag.....I was thinking of 'any sort' as 'any make'...such as glock, sig, beretta...etc....I should have been clearer....:)

Well the letters were sort of italicized and also included the word "Storm." For a brief time I had two of these mags and felt very very dangerous. But then Stoeger swapped them for FS92 mags and order was restored.

Imagine the barrel 2" longer.............
Hey, mine isnt just longe, its thicker too. :)

Received a voicemail from the CFO - that I understood that if I put short barrel back on it would be restricted and would have to let them know

Light been moved to side rail. Red dot works great as happened to align perfectly with fixed sights.

EDIT - The balance with the heavy barrel is good too.

That is a sweet Rifle. It must be a blast to take it anywhere....with 10 rounds.

The Price for the Barrel swap seems a little high. But I guess that is the price to play.

Maybe I should get one....hold off on my AR build.

Is there anywhere else that can do the swap?

Wow that rifle almost looks better with the barrel swapped. I've always wanted one of these, but in .45 ACP, does Bits of Pieces do the barrel swap in that caliber as well ? Is there an equivalent Beretta pistol mag in .45 ACP that will fit in the Storm allowing 10 rounds ? Man that would be a lot of fun to plink with out in the bush.

It's the mags stamped CX-4 that must be pinned, see the Questar website for the letter from the RCMP.

I have a non-restricted Storm in .40cal with a holosight, love it!!
