I have to start selling some guns, due to supplement income required. Looking for a value on this rifle. It is manufactured by one of the better companies, it has recently had a replacement legal length barrel installed (19 inch, from Trade-x in Montreal by a smith in B.C.) and I have put it in a brand new Boyds stock. I have had this gun since the mid '70's and have fired less than a box of ammo during my time with it. Any suggested values will be a help. Thanks.

Depends really. 30 Carbine ammo isn't cheap anymore. That coupled with fact that the magazines have to be pinned to 5, it won't draw in guys who like to blow through lots of ammo in a sand pit or at the range. There are more affordable rifles and calibers to do that with. Since it's been rebarreled and restocked, collector value is pretty much gone, even if the manufacturer of receiver is one of the more desirable ones. And 30 carbine is regarded as marginal bordering on damn near criminal to use on anything bigger than varmints, and that's only if you can actually find soft point ammo for it.

I'd like to tell you it's worth a lot but in this day and age, coming from a purely practical perspective, I can't say it's worth more that 500-600$. And even then, only to the right buyer. Maybe other fellows have a different outlook on it though. Good luck either way.

As mentioned who made it will be a huge determiner of value. I've seen Universal's as cheap as 350$ on here... with USGI between $500 - $1000 depending on which USGI manufacturer and condition

30 Carbine can be a real PITA for ammo if you don't reload, but if you reload, it's one of the easiest and cheapest rifle cartridges to reload, and you can get all sorts of soft point, hollow point etc bullets for it cheap and easy
