I just finished a small run of NON-RESTRICTED ACR barrels. They will be blued tomorrow then they are ready for installation. There are 6 not spoken for so if you want one now is the time to speak up. Made from top quality Green Mountain blanks these are just the ticket to get your ACR off the RCMP's naughty list.

you need more than just a barrel and they were not doing that caliber last time I asked.

Leigh got a chance to shoot my 450 though.

And it was pretty awesome :)

We have the standard .223/5.56 barrels in stock now and ready for converting your rifle to NR. Changing caliber to something custom is not just a wham-bam easy job. It requires ALOT of time to be spent on R&D to make sure the rifle fire the way it should consistently and not damage anything in the process. At this time we do not have the time to invest in a project like that. We are focused on production of our existing product line up and a few new tricks that have yet to be revealed. You guys know us, we are anything but run of the mill.

Are these barrels complete with the gas system components or do they have to be salvaged from the current barrel? Ie, can I buy one and use it as a quick change barrel?

Thanks,

Matt

We re-use the original components from your barrel. There is no such thing as 'quick change' because the minute you put the 16" barrel back on it will need a status change back to Restricted.

What if we already have a non restricted version and want a quick change 18.5"+ caliber conversion. Thanks.

Guys, he's covered your questions already.
They are not suppliers of gas system parts, you'll need to get those from Gravel.

The barrel swap is a full service conversion, including status change to NR.
Its a good value, with a nice barrel.
As they mentioned, other services are not on the table at the moment.

The barrels are 5.56/.223

I've purchased an ACR with a NR barrel already. Was simply looking at options for spare barrels. By your answer, I assume you must modify the upper receiver because the ACR I purchased has a quick change barrel on it.

No modifications to upper that I am aware of.

What Dlask is trying to articulate if I am not mistaken, is that the components to mount the barrel are not readily available (locking ring, handle, spacer, gas system, etc.) So they must use your old hardware from your restricted barrel to install on the new barrel.

You can buy one and keep it around until such time you deem necessary to install the new one, in which they would need everything off the old barrel.

Absolutely correct. If you want to purchase a whole new set of barrel hardware now the cost would be in the range of $400-500 because of the US dollar.
