Sorry if I am repeating a question. Is there any semi auto rifles that look like an ar 15 but are non restricted. As far as I understand they are restricted by name but a reciever, and name change would make them non restricted. Thanks in advance.

Isn't the Robinson arms XCR non-restricted?

What's the difference between the AR-180B and AR 180B-2?? One is restricted and the other is non-restricted.

there will be more xcr's coming to canada if the export permits arrive. I have one, i love it, and loving shooting gophers and coyotes with it :D

the original AR180b had a 19 inch barrel with a muzzle brake that was made as part of the barrel. this was because armalite made the rifle during the assault weapons ban.

now that the ban is long gone, they are making the rifles with a 18 inch barrel with a threaded muzzle brake. this change makes them too short for non restricteds.

some states however still have they're own assault ban. so thats why there are two diff versions of the rifle. one with the origianl config, one with the new config. unfortunately, canadian production time is shared with US assault weapons ban states. guess who loses on that deal...

Nice gun, stupid expensive.
Derrr?? How much were they going for? Their more expensive than an AR platform, granted, but their also non restricted and WAY cheaper than a SIG, SL8 etc. I thought they were around $2000-2200...? I'm still planning on getting one.

They are not that expensive when you consider that the XCR has an MRP. An AR, so equipped, catches up in price FAST.
