non restricted black rifles for hunting

I was told by a friend you cannot hunt big or small game in Ontario with a non restricted black rifle. i would think that you could because it is non restricted. i have tried to search the forum and other sites but cannot find any info. if you could help settle a debate that would be great. thanks

Perhaps check the minimum calibre for big game - may need to be bigger than .223 so not so much a black rifle issue as a minimum calibre issue.

Pretty sure you can hunt with any non restricted as long as its within caliber restrictions..
