Non Restricted DMR type rifles in .223?

Weight like a ton of bricks like the XCR?

The xcr isn't even that heavy lol what is it 11lbs? It feels the same to me as my c7 did.

Edit - to say feels the same means I dont notice it on a hike any more than I would be burdened by another rifle, and snap shooting doesn't feel any slower, perhaps if measured in hundredths of a second but I'm no competion shooter.

Thanks, the swiss arms would have been perfect :(

It sure does suck.

I have to cross an ocean to go shoot this one (also too scary for Canada):(

The stupid firearms act has got to go!!!

Ton of bricks?

I'll trade the superior accuracy at the cost of slightly increased weight of an ACR over the better maneuverability but piss poor accuracy of the Tavor any day.
If all I did was 3-gun or CQB matches then maybe I'd look closer at a Tavor but for general shooting the ACR does more than I need it to do.
How much does a Tavor with quality optic weigh? Yes it carries it better and closer to you but most of them can't group better than 3 moa.

Non restricted barrel without glass.

Is it really any heavier than most other piston operated rifles with a non restricted length barrel out there? Sure, if you compare it to a 10.5 inch AR it's heavy but nothing excessive.

Anything else I'm missing? Looks like the ACR still isn't ready yet :(

Don't hold your breath. The DMR version will probably be a long wait. Bushmaster has been promising conversion kits since 2011 and still nothing.

If you want accuracy from a non restricted semi auto 223 then the only options in my opinion are the HK SL8-4 and probably with some mods like the $400 lower to give it a pistol grip instead of the thumbhole stock. Other than that the best option is to buy a restricted ACR and have a conversion built for it then have it declassified or buy one that someone has already done the work to do that. There are a couple on the EE now unless they have sold in the last couple days.
I've owned 2 HK SL8-4's and one was completely stock and the other had the Hera Arms lower and a bunch of other stuff done, both were capable of 1 moa or better with the right ammo.
My ACR is non restricted and I have a 223, a 300 Blackout, and a 6.8SPC conversion for it. The 223 is a really light barrel which I think is effecting accuracy a little as the best I've gotten so far is about 1.5 moa, my 300BLK conversion is working great and I've found 2 155gr loads that are doing about 0.8 moa, the 6.8 conversion is still in the works but should be up and running once I have some time to work on it. A few guys have said their ACR's are doing sub moa with the right ammo.
There are also a couple guys with 450 Bushmaster kits for theirs.
The problem with the ACR is that since Bushmaster is still catching up to demand and serving the US market we are left to fend for ourselves meaning that any barrels or conversion kits must be custom made. The barrels aren't very difficult since any AR barrel with a midlength gas port will work if you have someone machine a seat for the op-rod guide.

As for an actual factory 223 DMR rifle, there really isn't anything.
