Non-Restricted Semi-Auto .308win/7.62x51 options?

I'm considering a semi in .308, but unsure about what my options are in Canada. Would like it to be non restricted. I also don't want to spend a FORTUNE. The XCR-M would be an easy decision if I had $2500 sitting around that I didn't know what to do with. Are there better options than the M305/M14 around the same-ish price point?

I did a bunch of research before I bought my Benelli MR1 and am fairly familiar with most of the .223/5.56x45 semi NR rifles available to Canadians, but I never really looked into .308.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Non-restricted semi auto .308 are few and far between as well as pricey. Norc M14 is the best option sub $1500 in my opinion.

I'm looking for the same thing and everyone above seems to have mentioned the current options. M305, FNAR, Kel-Tec RFB. Personally, I'm waiting for the SCAR 17 that Irunguns has sitting with the RCMP lab rats but she's going to be pricey.

Nothing wrong with a browning BAR either , never read about anybody having problems with them anyway I have one in 300 win and love the thing just as accurate as my M1A national match

Famae, XCR-M, M305 (M14) RFB and FNar are the most common black rifle, non-restricted options.

For what the RFB costs, I'd just go with a used XCR. Not a fan of Kel Tec, the quality is... Questionable.

I have owned both of which you speak of. If I was to pick one it would be the RFB with out a doubt.
