Non Restricted Semi-auto rifle in 40 S&W?

JR Carbine is non-restricted and available in 40 S&W. I have a 9mm. Cheap to feed, reasonably accurate and reliable -

I have a non-restricted Beretta CX4 in .40 S&W with 18.5" barrel

My 9mm is very nice. This may be debatable but with the Uzi/bullpup design that keeps the length down, ability to mount a flashlight, and ten round mags that are easy to insert I think it would be pretty hard to beat in Canada as a home defense type firearm.

The alternatives being shotguns that are slow to load and unload, 5.56 or 7.62 rifles that are loud and over penetrate or only hold five rounds, and restricted firearms that have their own issues.

Not really what you asked I know.

Save yourself time and aggravation and get the CX4, unless you already use glock mags for something else

I have a JRC in .40 and it hasn't caused me any excess aggravation or time...? It likes to be kept clean, but if I do that it runs flawless. Surprisingly accurate too.

It's for sale at the moment, but only so I can replace it with a 9mm JRC.

Had a JRC in 45 when they first came out. nothing but issues from punctured primers, failure to feed and failure to eject. It was even able to somehow get the round sideways and mangle the brass bad enough it would not chamber in anything, even some cases were ruptured. I was told by the retailer numerous times it was an ammunition issue and was brushed off many times for warranty repair. Finally I convinced them to try it themselves, then after many months of trying to fix it they finally gave a full refund. Not a pleasurable experience all around.

HK USC has been 100% reliable since and NR with a longer barrel
