Non-Restricted semi in 6.5 Grendel or 6.8 SPC?

I am looking for some options for a light-weight non-restricted semi in 6.5 Grendel. Not possessing a 223 at the moment, the option of buying one to convert it to 6.5 is not feasible. A 6.8 SPC would work as well, as I understand many argue it to be better than the 6.5.

Any suggestions?

The Robinson Arms XCR-L is a semi-automatic rifle that is available in 6.8 SPC. It probably isn't what you'd consider lightweight though.

The XCR-L sure do come in 6.8SPC and I went with it over a 6.5 Grendel because it was available I have uppers in 223 & 6.8SPC now.

Shot 2 deer with my 18.6" barreled XCR-L loaded with either H322 or AA2200 powder with 95gr TTSX bullets @ 2825fps & 2850fps respectively.

I like the 6.8SPC cartridge so much I also added a 23" T/C Contender carbine barrel in 6.8 to my Contender collection the same AA2200 95gr TTSX loads do 2960fps.

They are fairly accurate as well I would not hesitate if conditions are right to take a deer at 300 yards.

You can find the best 6.8SPC available here http://68forums.com/forums/forum.php

Here is a pic of a group I shot off the back of my quad shot was 347 yards across a valley I was not holding for windage.

Here is a pic of the shot distance

Recovered 95gr TTSX shot was into moss/sand distance was 330 yards these bullets are designed specifically for the 6.8SPC and are supposed to expand down to 1600fps.

Bonus is you can legally use 10 round 7.62X39 XCR-L pistol mags that legally hold 11 6.8SPC rounds.

problem for me is I only ever need one shot.
