Noob EBR Owner With Questions

PUREVIL, did you ever try to use the iron sights with your SAGE M14ALCS stock before installing the scope/mount combo?

The reason I ask is that most, including myself find it very difficult to get low enough behind the receiver to actually use the iron sights.
I find nothing wrong with the M14DCSB, but for the reason stated above I replaced mine with the CASM from M14.CA and then installed
short HK flip-up BUIS from TROY on the top rail ahead of the CASM. This change resulted in slightly better weight distribution and flexibility.

Ive done a few searches to find my answers and Ive wasted about 1hr to try and find the answer but i cant... Just got this one from a member here.... but I have a few questions because im a noob to the m14 platform.

1. On the sage scope mount do I have it mounted in the correct position? And what is the lil grey metal square for? It looks like it goes on the screw on the end of the mount but I cant figure out how to make it sit correctly, so for now I left it off.

2. When he shipped the gun it didn't have the flash hider attached... he included the wrench to hold the barrel and tighten the washer thingy in the hider... but do I need any lock tight or will hand tightening be good enough?

3. How do you attach a vertical foregrip with that hand guard in the way? Or do i have to remove or cut the handguard to install a vertical grip?

Thanks for any help you can offer.

That's Awesome nice gun dude!:dancingbanana:

Get the vertical grip from sage that screws through the hand guard. it has a fairly long handle and works well as a quick "bipod".

Ok I noticed the back block on the mags are a hair longer than the one on the 10rd.... is there a way to adjust for this?

As Turf mentioned, you can "tune up" the mag lock block with a dremel tool or file. you just have to be very careful if you use the dremel. I just used a hand file and fine emery cloth to polish it up.

Just remember to to measure/check/test fit often to ensure a proper fit.
