noob, howdah .20 gauge

So, l got a Pedersoli Howdah in 20 gauge coming. It's restricted, so l can't take it to the club except on the pistol range. Shot is not allowed at the pistol range, but l could use ball.
From what l have been able to glean off the net, 20 gauge is about a .60 cal ball. l can find no .60 cal ball in canada. The biggest l can find is .54 but i doubt that would be very accurate...
Can anyone tell me where i could get .60? or how i could use a smaller caliber and still get any accuracy?

buy a .60 cal ball mold and start casting or order from track of the wolf state side

Your 20 guage should be .62 measured bore . I have some .60 ball and a steel Lyman .610 mold. Which would you prefer? Shipping lead is stupid expensive. Cheers

Further thought have .575 ball and mold which could also work with heavy patch if indeed your bore is .600.

Antique guy . l looked into ordering from track of the wolf. l put a few hundred balls of different calibers in my cart, when i got to checkout l discovered that my $85 worth of lead would cost $112 to ship... l guess l'll have to look into making my own. So much for easing into this. Thanks for the advice and the contact.

yeah shipping can be expensive when you consider a .600 round ball cast in pure lead is around 3/4 of an ounce it can get heavy quick around 21 RB to the pound.

a around ball mold(lee .600) and some pure lead. camp stove and a old steel pot and a ladle to cast. when I was in my early teens I used to cast sinkers with a charcoal bbq and a small steel pot.

I would wait until you have the gun in hand and can confirm its actual bore diameter. Also remember the diameter of the ball is normally about .010" under bore diameter to allow for patching the ball

I would concur with mooncoon. When you have it I can send you a few at .575, .600, and .610 to find out which works best.
