Noob question about Metric turrets.

I have my first scope which has target turrets and though I'll still do some reading on calcations and ranging I have a quick question.
If one click equals 1cm at one hundred, what does this equal at further distances,300 then 500 etc.
Example. If sighted in zero at 100 and then determined to be 40cm low at 300 how due you calculate the number of clicks up.

1 click = 1cm @ 100m. So, 1 click = 2cm @ 200m, 1 click = 3cm @ 300m, etc. So, if you are 40cm low at 300m, 40/3 = 13+ clicks.
Or, 3 clicks = 3cm @ 100m. This is very close to one minute of angle, so clicks are about 1/3 minute.

Thanks that is what I thought (So, 1 click = 2cm @ 200m, 1 click = 3cm @ 300m, etc) but wasn't sure if it was really that simple.
 
You should be reading the marks on the turrets and using minutes NOT clicks.
If you lose count your screwed, if you go by the markings and have notes as to your setting values for each yardage you DON'T HAVE TO COUNT at all, read the scope, that's why there is markings.
I've watched a friend count clicks once he got to 800 yds and while he's 3/4 of the way to where was wanted to be someone walked up and asked him a question, laff.

With Mill Dots and Metric turrets use Mills . MOA will just add to your confustion.(example - 100 = 0, 200 = +1Mill, 300 +4 mill) Do the same to hold off for wind.
 
Thanks guys. I can see i have a bit of reading and learning to do but I had a SUPER day out shooting today. After 20 years of shooting for hunting I'm wondering what took me so long to get into this type of shooting. I can see this reaching out to farther distance accuratly getting kind of addictive.
