Hey all,

Noob question here - searched around but couldn't find anything. Bought a brand new M305. Did a tilt test on it. Action cycles back no problem, but from the rearward position can have trouble coming forward again. When the rifle is complete, I can charge the action hard, and the bolt and op rod will stay rearward - as though the bolt hold open has engaged (although it hasn't). Do I have a bent op rod? Doing some messing around with it if I tap the op rod at the front near the guide block it releases, or if I tap the rear of the charging handle it will release. Everything else on the rifle seems to be good.

Isn't the "TILT TEST" nothing more than locking the action back and ensuring the gas piston moves freely?

There's another tilt test to ensure the oprod moves freely also.
Done with no trigger group of course and in the stock to check for binding.

So the op rod wasn't machine all the way properly... the underside have about 8mm long ridge where it looked like the cutting tool failed. I used a file to square it up. This was forcing the op rod at the very end of its cycle to travel upward and bind.
