So I've just purchased my first gun - a Browning Silver Hunter Micro Midas 20ga. I'm a new shooter, and headed off for a lesson at the local club with my new gun. Well this thing chucks the shells several feet and they were hitting my neighbour two doors down almost every time. Luckily it was a lesson situation and we were all new so everyone just thought it was funny (except me). However a shell catcher is mandatory and after looking online for a good part of the day I haven't come up with much.
I'm hoping that the knowledgeable people here will have some input. I read about the rubber band, but that doesn't sound ideal. I know this isn't a trap gun, but for a small lady the options are very limited in Canada, and I just wanted to buy something to get some mileage with. I expect to be practicing on the trap field and maybe skeet if I meet anyone who is into it. I really don't want to be ticking people off.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated!
thanks

Might be able to modify the Birchwood Casey shell catcher. I may have one home that was used on a A400, think they came with extra sticky pads, let me know if you want to try it.

Or maybe it could be mounted slightly lower, away from the ejection port. I have one on my Maxus 12ga, and works great. Should be able to bend the wire to work. I got mine off Amazon ca.

The rubber band will work though. I used it before getting the Birchwood Casey catcher.

Thank you Houndog for your offer, and the rest of you for the info.
I think I will pick one up here - it would be a long journey for it from NB. Hopefully it is easily modified :)

I like the sound of that. Now to find the knowledgeable, competent individual.........
I'm new to the sport and haven't met anyone yet.

cheers

Check at your local gun shop, if they can't then they will likely know someone who can do it. It isn't difficult or rocket science, but experience is what you want.
