"...Can I fire .17HMR2 in my .17HMR?..." Nope. It's not a .17HMR2. It's a .17 Mach 2. The HMR is based on the .22 magnum. The .17 Mach 2 is based on the .22 Long Rifle. Same OAL as a .22 LR. The Mach 2 is way too short.
You can't shoot a .22 LR in a .22 Mag either.
