so.... in my perusing of rifles i've noticed that a lot of custom actions look like 700 actions, only spruced up with paint and chrome and what not. Also the bolts look exactly the same. I'm not tryin to hate on anybodies work, just seemed odd to me to call something custom that essentially looks exactly the same as something else. Unless im totally off in left field....which may very well be? just lookin for some insight:confused:

when it comes to actions people pick what works, 700s and clones, savage bassed actions all make a good start, add you choice of barrel, stock, trigger, chamber cut to fit how you want to load and bam, custome rifle....

unless you want to start dropping 1500+ on just an action (which "most" dont) then there is only so many options to choose from

The reason is also that the Having the same outside dimensions allows the action to fit in more stocks without heavy customization. The differences are much greater though inside the action. Better machining, better materials, etc.

The r700 action is a great design and has many many accessories that fit it so it prevents the end user from being limited in parts.

More love, thats the difference.

Remington is trowing actions out as fast as possible. Great action, great design, tons of accessories, but not always match grade.

Custom actions have better materials, thicker walls, tighter tolerances, smoother and more pleasing fit and finish.

No need to recreate the wheel.
