Noobie first reload problem/question (with pics!)

Live primers can be de-primed exactly like dead primers. You could not set one off if you tried.

Your OAL is just fine. If it fits the magazine ok and bullet does not hit the rifling, it is ok.

I cut the crimp of primers by the hundreds using a $7.00 counter sink tool in a electric drill. Buy it at Home Depot. Just touch the pocket with the tool at cut off the edge.
Interesting. I was just reading and some people mentioned using the de burrer tool works wonders. Maybe I'll try this avenue first.
I figured I wouldn't "blow my self up" depriming, but as the adage goes, better safe than sorry, especially around anything firearms related.
I'm old enough enough to know I don't know everything.

X2 for countersink tool. Works fine for light occasional decrimping. Don't buy an rcbs swager unless u have a compatible press. Use eye/ear protection and gloves to decap live primer. Never had a kaboom except for once with a crushed .50 BMG primer(very exciting).

For the primer pockets I use the Lyman hand tool set that has a primer pocket reamer and a pocket clean tool.
As for overall length I use the Hornady gauge with the modified case to get measurements for each different type of bullet I use that way you will know exactly how far off the lands you are.
