Hey everyone,

I am pretty new to reloading and just have a question of brass condition.

I am reloading 30-06 and I am re-using brass from a factory load box.

On the first cartridge there is a buldge on the base of the neck and the second there is a deformation on the primer pocket hole. The deformation is kind of like an elongation of the hole.

So my questoin is; are these round safe to fire? and will they affect accuracy?

Any help would be appreciated

Bulges get ironed out in sizing or firing, do the bulge is not an issue.

What cause the bulge might be of interest.

The elongation of the hole. are you referring to the primer pocket or the flash hole in the bottom of the pocket? was it punched by your decapping pin being off center?
 
*embarrasing* i dont know how to get a url topost pictures.

and the elongation is one the flash hole, that is to say on the inside of the primer pocket.

and the elongation apears to have been pushed from the primer pocket side.

ill try and figure out this picture thing.

also dont know how the buldge happened. just sorta happened.

Is this brass that you have attempted to re-size? seat a bullet in? Or is it just once-fired?

I.e. more details needed!

If it's brass you've reloaded DO NOT try to fire it in your gun until you get things figured out.
 
a bulge can come from crimping too hard. The flash hole thing, ignore it. But pics of the buldge would be very helpful.
Was the buldge after it left the gun, or after you ran it through one of your dies?
and is it a "dulge" or a "dent"?
