Lost the fiber optic from my front sight and need to order some fiber optic rod just unsure of diameter.
Does anyone know?
While im at it anyone have a permanent solution from keeping the rear sight from loosening? Thinking I will have to drill through the sight and into the slide to create a dimple so the set screw has a recess? How does that sound? Possibly tap for a larger better quality set screw? Lock-tight just doesn't cut it.
 
Sounds like you have a vertical set screw already in the rear sight.
When tightened it should push the sight upward into the existing dovetail.
Is the set screw going all the way through and pushing on the bottom of
the dovetail. ?? Unless the threads are loose or stripped.

It has a setscrew already just does not hold. After about 100rds it start to move. Thought I would set the sight were I wanted and drill a recess in the slide using one size up set screw to anchor. Hope this will do the trick.
I'll be ordering the rod so was hoping someone knew the size offhand.
