Okay...520 rounds of ammo, I get that. But how is it packaged? Cardboard 20's? A sealed can? Two sealed cans? I'm not going to shoot mine right away, but I'd like to store it more conveniently than in the wood crate. Should I break it open if I'm not going to use it [maybe] this year?

If you're getting from CanAm they come in Norinco boxes of 20. Styrofoam inserts in the box for each bullet.

I Just pick some up from can am and it was in paper .

Here's what I got.

Thats how mine came And some times they sneak in some targets or a popsicle stick or a calendar if you've been a good boy. Repacked mine in a .50 cal ammo can as the wood crate smelled to funky for me

Hmmm... I didn't get mine from CanAM...it came from the Calgary Shooting Centre. I would have thought that all the Norinco wooden crated 7.62x51/520 round crates would be the same.

My 1000 rnd. crate from CanAm had the two sealed cans...one is still unopened and I'd like to hold it in reserve [you know...zombies...] but if the 520 crates are in cardboard and styrofoam, I'll open it and start using that instead.

Haha, I got mine the same way...got a calendar, got some targets, and the popsicle stick.....started a thread about it, haha!

Seems to shoot pretty good. It isn't match ammo by any means but goes bang everytime and isn't horrible. For $0.50 a shot I'll be buying more of it. I wish it was packed in spam cans for storage though.

Agreed. Gone through about 100 rounds of the stuff, and seems more reliable than MFS.

With the steel cased stuff I was hitting the gong at 200 reliably and fairly well at 300 with open sights using my M305.
