Norc A1 look alike

Does anyone know if you could make a poor mans look alike M16a1 with the 20" Norc that Canada Ammo sells and some surplus furniture? Do the triangular handgaurds have a different retainer?

The front handguard cap needs to be replaced if you want to use A1 handguard , you can use a A2 handguards with the end cal that's on there .

I did exactly this with an old CQ311 about 10 years ago. The front retainer was different, so some dremeling was required. Not sure if the current 20" models are the same as the old CQ311s, though.

I used Canadian C7 surplus furniture and Vietnam Era bayonet and bipod on a Norinco 20". I also swapped the upper receiver for an A2 with detachable carry handle sight. It shoots great!
