The Norinco CF98 is a 9mm pistol that costs 6 bills which is really pricy for a Norc. Is this another Sig copy or could it be (GASP) an original Norinco product. I just can't see spending 6 bills on a Norc. Does ANYONE know anything about these?

I think the M92(CF98) pistol was designed originally as a 9mm pistol, but their old military advisors prefer 5.8mm AP rounds for the PLAs, so the 9mm pistols were mainly issued to the armed-police force...don't expect every PLAs will have a M92, just compair the prices of the M77 or those even older Type 54 and the CF98...

I have no first hand(hand on) experience about that CF98 and have no idea if it is the real deal military issue or a commercial copy...usually the only differents are the markings and the grip design.

Any BC nutz has a visit to Levers?

Interesting? do you have a source of your claim?

Thankfully no requirement for a CF98 yet. Gulf War Syndrome is not one of those ailments the current regime of medical officers is willing to unplug their ears to acknowledge.

There are a variety nonspecific complaints with many manifestations that have no particular treatment, so how does the ordinary soldier even begin to know whether he needs a CF98?

Actually, when the porject was first conceived, the 9mm version is intended to be issues to the platoon commanders and below, while the 5.8mm version will issue to the battalion commanders and above, as well as SpecOps........

The 9mm version is already adapted or on trials with the several police departments of the major cities in China.

DBOY's Gunworld has pages about the Type 92s(in Simplified Chinese only):
