I know I'm gonna catch hell for this post, but oh well  So I have this Norinco JW-27 bolt action rifle, right? It came with one 5-shot clip. Just one. Extra clips are $19.95 each from marstar (which is roughly 15% of the price of the whole rifle!!!). If you ask me that's too much, and they're such a pain to load that I don't even wanna bother with the Norc brand clips.

So, I'm wondering if there are any other brands/types of aftermarket (hopefully hi-cap) clips that would fit this rifle. I'm not about to throw it in the garbage, it works fine and I enjoy shooting it, but with only one 5-shot clip it gets boring kinda fast, y'know? Any help would be much appreciated :D Thanx!

Reality check.
At the last gun show, I blew about $125 on rimfire magazines.
Winchester single shot mag, Winchester .22 short mag, Winchester repro mag, Savage .22 Sporter mag and Savage .22 23A mag.
I could easily cover my costs by selling the two Winchester mags.
Everytime I see a Browning T-bolt mag under $50 I pick it up.
My Walther mags are a bargain at $75 - repros are $99 US.
Mags for my Savage 1919 .22 are over $50 if you can find one.
Gevarm are up to $100.
I've heard that the mags for the H&K 300 run over $150 US.

Yowza! Suddenly $20 buck-apiece for mags doesn't sound so bad  lol!

Still, I really wish there was an alternative. I'll look into the CZ/BRNO mags (I do remember reading somewhere that the JW-27 is a Brno copy), but I've kinda resigned myself to the Norc 5-shot OEM option. Failing that, I wonder how hard it would be to make my own mags? The Norc mag is just sheet-metal, it's not exactly a swiss watch, y'know? How hard can it be? Are there any legal issues attached to "making" a magazine for a rimfire rifle? I have access to the materials and the tools, but I'd rather not turn myself into a criminal by doing something stupid :p

No legal issues. For a rimfire rifle, no capacity issues either.
Brno mags run about $35. I've seen people asking $50 for the 10 rounder.
People are experimenting with the Norinco mags in their CZ/Brnos with mixed success.
