Norc lowers up to spec?

I recently picked up a 22lr upper for my AR and when I went to try it out yesterday, I noticed that the mags were a bit loose. The lower is an NEA and I know that they have a bit of a reputation for not always being up to spec. Oddly enough though, all of my LAR and Pmags fit nice and snug. Anyway, after talking to the seller (I picked up the upper off the EE) I was thinking of getting a 2nd lower and right now the Norc ones seem to be the only ones within the budget. So I was wondering if the Norc lowers were more up to spec than the NEA ones or would I just have the same issue with loose mags.

I had no problem mating my Norc lower to American made uppers. Mine is an older model CQ M311-1..but I imagine they didn't change the specs with the newer ones

If the PMAG and LAR mags fit properly, it's probably your .22 mag and not the lower. If you know someone with an AR other than an NEA, you could try the mag in his to see if the same problem exists. In any case, before giving up on your NEA lower, try and fire your .22LR upper and NEA lower combination and see if you have feeding problems. If everything works fine, leave well enough alone.

Could be the mags, but you didn't mention what kind of ammo you were shooting. A lot of semi auto 22s can be very picky when it comes to ammo.

I can't speak for the quality of Remington golden, but generaly I try to avoid bulk pack ammo in my semi's.

If you can find it, I'd try some CCI mini mags and see how it works. CCI ammo seems to fix a lot of semi auto 22 issues

Cci mini mags are the only rounds that will run reliably in my rifle. That being said I hate shooting .22lr so it doesn't really matter. I need a "BANG" lol
