this was my first rifle and i thought that i was just a poor shooter, but now that i own other rifles i notice that all of my rounds are coming out high no matter how much i crank up the sight. anyone else see this problem, is this for a gunsmith to look at, or anyone lower mainland bc???

thanks, Dave

Maybe I'm reading your post wrong, you say your shots are high, and you are raising your rear sight.
Move the rear sight in the direction you want the bullet to go on the target, ie. hits high, move sight down.
Sorry if I'm assuming you didn't know that.

assuming you're using factory 150 grains, there is a zeroing procedure for these rifles in the manual- it's possible that the rifle isn't zero'd- if you're shooting heavier than 150's, it's going to be off and high probably- fm23-8 right in the front

Okay, but is the degree to which they are going high changing as you adjust the sight?

The sight is a pretty simple machine...it goes up or down, left or right. If it is changing position the way it is supposed to, there isn't really a way for it not to affect the placement of the shot, no matter how poorly zeroed the gun is.

So are you running out of room to adjust it DOWN? And it is still shooting too high?

Another point, I think everyone will agree that this also has nothing to do with accuracy. Misaligned sights and sight adjustment is just that, the accuracy has to do with the inherant ability to group.

I assume then that your groupings are ok, but just high.
