My rear sight windage adjustment won't move beyond three clicks right and no clicks left. After three clicks I cannot turn the knob. The rear of the sight unit seems to have a gap on right side and flush on the left. Great rifle otherwise.
Any way of "fixing" it?

Same thing on my norc m14..

I'm thinking of getting replacements from keepshooting.com

http://www. keepshooting.com/review/product/list/id/1179/category/67/

they also sell a match rear sight for a bit more $.

I had to loosen the entire unit to be able to get the sight centred on the witness mark on the receiver. There it will stay. The barrel is at least indexed properly as it was shooting ever so slightly to the right. Now that the windage is centred it should be ok.

Didn't I tell all of ya, those rear sights are a piece of poop, but hey, for $ 400 you get a $ 1000 forged steel receiver and all those spare parts hanging on the receiver are FREE! :D k

Be warned, the Kommunist Zhinese cyber war hackers cannot ever do a great job with the fine machine work of Jean C Garand's creation (I mean the rear sights), but they did a fine job with the receiver. Right now, that's the big picture. :)

So go and buy some replacement knobs.

Cheers and enjoy the addiction.

Might want to get a new sight base too... ...the pinion diameter is a little wider on the norc if memmory serves correctly.

I went Italian to give my rifles that 'continental flair' . . .

norc sights are crap. best case with my 'as supplied' sights was to set them for a given range and tighten in place, and use 'Kentucky windage' from there. they were not adjustable in a meaningful way, and the peep was way off centre too.

look up 'italian connection' in the search tool to find roberto and get the goods, or find GI or NM sights elsewhere.
