Norc M4 and Magpul Handguard.

Where is it hanging up? There have been lots of posts mentioning that the Norc end cap may or may not be milspec and can cause problems with fitment of aftermarket handguards.

those handguards are worth what... 50$?

a jobmate dremel costs 10$ at Canadian tire and is all you need to fit your magpul handguard to the gun. Hell, you could probably do it with a 3$ file too. As previously mentionned the end cap is undersized... Personnally I have also had problem with the delta ring end, but you will see how much shaving and where is necessary

Not worth paying a gunsmith his minimal fee to get this over with
 
You will need to change the front handguard retainer if you want those handguards to fit without modifying the handguards!!

Not too long, just put a set on for a friend yesterday. They are extremely tight and need some persuading but they will fit. I thought they were too long also but when you lay the handguard side by side, they are the same length. As an FYI, it took 2 of us to do it.

If you are ever down EESA way, I would be happy to help you out.
 
$3 file and a lot of patience.

i have the exact same setup as gregb. it took filing of the front of th handguard lips and my gf holding them together while i fought with the d ring. we almost broke up but the rifle looks much better.
 
I have a OD green MOE hand guard for sale that is pre fitted to a Norc .. took me a half hour with a file and she fits like a glove .. DO NOT GO TO A GUNSMITH.. he will charge you at least $100... personally i would just cut down the front sight leaving the gas block and cut off the delta ring, then install a 12 inch free float hand guard .
