Just got my M4 from Badgers the receiver is painted not anodized like other
are suggesting, we see the metal in between the receiver and upper and
at few other random places on the gun... they seems to be of random quality!
Others with serials lower then mine are nicer and norinco marked, mine its only
CQ in a triangle with the serial and caliber...

I'm not complaining about the finish, I knew the chance i took with that. Just to let you know so you make a enlightened decision. May post pics and my story dealing with badger later tonight, (depending how I feel).

Follow this link and take a look at the newest run of Norinco M4's. These also say CQ-A on the side and this is the model name, so the fact that your gun has this is completly normal. Also take a close look at the finish, while the finish on the Norinco rifles has gotten considerably better over the years, it's definitely not a parkerized finish like most modern American made rifles.

Getting one myself is one of the best decisions I've made. It works flawlessly and I managed to get myself quite the stockpile of ammo with the money I saved over buying an American made unit.

No those have the Norinco markings hard to see but yep its there... By the way im not critizing badger on that thread just to let know that there are not anodized like couple people suggested in here... its paint.. not sure if i have an older model though...
