Silly me. Decided to field strip the Nork M-93 .22 pistol after receiving it in the mail today. I'd heard reassembly was a #####...but I guess I had to find out for myself. After swearing at the spring and finally getting it back in correctly (according to the photos on the Colt .22 site) another problem - the slide is under no spring tension at all, can be moved back and forth by hand and won't close using the slide stop. Could this have something to do with the takedown button, which is depressed when you begin disassembly?

Any best guesses much appreciated.

I think your right. If the takedown button is still down you know it's holding the recoil spring.

Make sure you pull the slide all the way back and compress the spring a little so the the takedown button can come back up and stop holding the recoil spring.

Hope this helps. Let us know...

The spring is in the position shown here:

When I place the slide back on the receiver, it simply sits there, under no tension at all, no matter how smartly I pull it back, it won't snap forward. I'm unsure whether the takedown button is in the right position, tho...

With the slide pulled all the way back take a small tool and push up on the metal tab holding in the recoil spring, this will also push the takedown button back into it's position.

Woo hoo! THANK YOU. Now all I have to worry about is the $75 Woodsman jamming tomorrow...but I get the joy of buying 50 of each brand of .22LR I can to find out what it likes to eat :)
