Noreen BN36. Is This Restricted?

Does the 30-06 offer much over .308, given the longer action needed?
I thought the .308 was sort of like a 30-06 optimized for semi auto, although I could be mistaken.

This would entail a different mag design and all the teething issues associated with any new design.

It's my dream hunting/target gun!

Usually, before the spending such amount of money, people trying to figure out all "pros and contras" of the specific model they are planning to buy.
Looks like Noreen has a better options/design, like I can choose between semi-auto and kinda bolt action firing with closed gas port. It's VERY handy option for long range shooting.
And another thing, it would be fine if some independent firearm expert tested for example the 308 configuration, and published detail report.

Some newer long range semi auto rifle designs are not quite good, and the drawbacks can be figured during the comprehensive testing. As example I can tell the comparison between NEMO arms 300 Win Mag and the same caliber Noreen. During the test the Nemo just deforms the case neck during the fire, but Noreen doesn't, which shows the quality design.
