Norenco M14 fired two rounds with 1 trigger pull

My first guess would be a stuck firing pin. Clean out your bolt and make sure the firing pin area isn't clogged and the pin itself moves freely.

I'd also suggest you consult some of our experts by PM when something like this happens, rather than talking about it publically. Even a temporarily dysfunctional rifle that fires more than one round per trigger pull could get you into trouble under the right circumstances.

Although I like the firing pin scenario, could have been stuck with grit that dropped out after firing the second round leaving no evidence.

+infinite! The safety check is paramount with this rifle! But yes, I have heard that these rifles can accidentally bump fire if not held tight to the shoulder, and following through on the trigger pull.
 
Mine was double firing from too much grease. It sometimes triple fired. I took it apart at the range and wiped the excess grease out and cleaned the bolt off and everything was okay after that. Learned that day that a little bit goes a really long way.

Just like SKS, there should be NO grease on the firing pin, this is one part you absolutely want dry, or a light (I mean LIGHT, spray on and wipe off with a dry cloth) coat of clp, the firing pin is free floating and needs to free of anything that will make it stick.
 
No reason to delete the post...

I've seen an M14 do this when the shooter was trying his very best to print good groups. It fires the first round & because of the shooters light trigger finger pressure the gun recoils, cycles & THE SHOOTER touches off a second round. This is not IMHO an issue with the firearm. Unless the packed in grease scenario is the reason... Then the gun needs a cleaning...

Dude, should have left the post....a malfunctioning firearm is not a modified one....semi autos have been known to go full auto due to mechanical issues (even nonmilitary semis) and there is no law against that. Don't let the chicken little fairies scare you.

Correct, I've seen this with a different shooter firing my SVT 40. He's been able to replicate this with his own SVT 40.
 
An M305 is not a military rifle. However, they like their cousins the 12(3) M-14's and M1A's, do tend to double under recoil if the shooter doesn't follow through on the shot. Really just not holding firmly to the shoulder and releasing the trigger before the rifle is finished recoiling. Has nothing whatever to do with the firing pin.
