Hi all,
Apologies if this has been readily discussed before:

If one were to buy the Norinco 1887 shotgun, could this trench heat shield/bayo mount be attached to it with minimal effort/extra bits?

https://www.gunpartscorp.com/products/813820

Does this just screw on simply using existing cross pins or something?

Thanks!

It can if they were instock. I have ordered one from here Parts For Antique Guns, LLC. been waiting almost two months still no word on it being shipped but they warn u it is a two month wait. Don't forget to order the rear sling swivel. think u have to notch the barrel for the screws. I think my credit card was dinged for $320 CDN for both the shield and rear swivel shipped to Canada which was more than the shotgun. plus I might get dinged at the border for hst. Parts For Antique Guns, LLC has good reviews on youtube for what it is worth. Parts with also have to be blued from these guys

Could I ask you to make a quick forum post when you get yours (hopefully soon!) showing what you do for the conversion?

"notching the barrel" etc (dunno what that means and it sounds scary :)

If it isn't too much trouble of course!

They work, mine was a snug fit. Looks great on the gun when its finally mounted.

I slid the heatsheild/bayo mount over the barrel, and marked where the screws were going to interfere with the barrel, and then removed it and used a small dremel bit to "notch" the barrel in three spots.

I did numerous test fits to ensure i removed the least amount of material i could. Take your time, dont get frustrated with it, and repeat your test fits until you have the proper size. Dont worry about a blemish kn the barrel from the dremel, youll never see it again once its installed.

I got mine from a store in new New Jersey, they dont ship to canada from online sales, but if you call them they will do it. Sorry i cant remeber their name.

I recently installed a heatshield on my norinco trench gun from Parts For Antique Guns, LLC, fit just fine. As stated before little snug and requires some material removed from the barrel for the set screws. Take your time, took me a couple hrs but I was being quite anal about it. Definitely changes the whole look. Well worth the money. They can be a little slow shipping as the parts are made to order.

Yes still waiting for mine. I phoned after 10 weeks and they said my order got misplaced. They shipped two days after my call. So will hopefully have mine soon. Did you guys blue yours. If so what did you use
