Looking at picking up a blued Norc 1911 plain jane government model. I was thinking about the sport but the no frills government model looks so clean. I have not seen any good pics of this model only sport. Are these finished as well as the newer sport models? Marstar has the blued version in stock. Anyone have a good pic of the blued 1911 non sport or have any comment on the quality of these. Sam 1911 is over $100 more and is probably finished alot better but the norc seems to be the diamond in the rough.

Have you tried googling for pics.
Norinco's get better all the time.
I prefer my lastest Norinco, 1911 Sport, over my Spartan, in all respects.
Fit, finish, accuracy and trigger pull, have come a long way.

I have one and its a great pistol. I've had great luck with all my Norc 1911's (6 total).

Only thing with most GOV models is the sights really suck.

Well, not only the sights. The Grip Safety from the Government Model allows painful hammerbite with the way I High-grip my 1911. The standard grip may be a non-issue for some guys. That's the reason I sold mine when the Sport with its beavertail grip safety and better sights, became available.

The longer trigger on the Sport another feature I like although the extended mag release can be another pain.

I guess mine is identical to mikehammer's...... Just love the pachmayr American legend grips, sooooooooo cool.. Blueing on mine is great, holding up really well.......

To answer the OP:
The finish, IMO, is extremely good and very durable.
Has proven to be very reliable. (hard to admit it, but if it keeps going like this it could surpass my G34)
