I am thinking about pick one up. Price is very attractive, feels very solid. I kinda like this heavy rough finish of it.

If you have one, please share your opinion.

TIA

P.S. Got one!

This thing is rock solid, shoots great. And "if doesn't work you can always hit with it" :)

I quite enjoy my 2 Norc 1911s, NP29 and 45 Commander.

Have owned, NP22, NP28, NP18 and M93. Nothing wrong with those either.

Well, maybe not so much the NP18, that one was pretty crude.

I would never have gotten into hand gunning had it not been for Norinco. A great way to try the sport out without breaking the bank.

I picked one up and for the price i love it. ive only shoot 3-400 rounds through it but its worked perfectly.--its the sport in 45 and seems more accurate than me-lol

I have an older NP-29 worked over by Joe Dlask and a new batch commander length in 45ACP. They are an excellent value, the newer ones have decent fit and finish and they make a great project base. Mine function 100% and generally shoot much better than I do. I am not a fan of the sights on the latest batches, though.

I have the Norconia nickel plated version. After a little polishing and tweaking it shoots great. I recomend it to anyone that wants a good entry level gun

Norinco 1911's....

I've owned a few different ones over the years now. Never had a lemon amongst them.

Currently have a new model compact [commander] in .45ACP and one of the older NP-29's [1911A1 in 9mm] that has had a bit of a makeover. Love 'em both....

I love what you've done to it! What kind of trigger is that? Where I can get it from? :)

Oh yeah, I also have this "Norc-in-stein".... a Norc 1911A1 frame with Colt series 70 topend. Shoots like a house on fire....

I picked up a Norc 1911 from Armco in November. Really impressed for the price. I'm not a fan of the front slide serrations, the target rib on the top of the slide, the oversized safety or the ambi safety, but it feels good in the hand and shoots great. I thought that if I really didn't like it I could gut it and put all my own stuff in it.

I like the fact that it is made out of hard tool steel, has a series 70 slide (no firing pin block) and a non-ramped barrel.

The trigger has the tiniest bit of creep, but breaks clean and is very accurate. The pistol is solid and the bluing is really good.

My only complaint would be the mags. The last round always jams. I haven't had time to fool around with it, but I'm sure I could bend something to fix it.

I should get one in 9mm.

Happy owner of 4 Norkie 1911s:
in 45acp - Government, Commander, Sport
in 9mm - NP29

No issues at all with all the 45s, as long as I used the Norkie stock magazines.
My old 8-rd Shooting Stars had issues with feeding and last-shot-slide-open, until I replaced the follower/spring with 7-rd Tripp Upgrade kits.

The NP29 had magazine follower-binding problems that were easily solved with a few strokes of a file.

IMO, the Norkie 1911s are the best value in pistols though I will not buy a Gov't model because it doesn't have a beavertail grip safety which is mandatory for me. For similar money, the Sport/Commander/NP29 have almost everything I want.

I had an NP 29 traded it for an NP 28. I didn't find either one particularly accurate, could be a reloading issue. I never could get groups smaller than 12 inches at 50 ft. Fit and finish were quite good. Very few FTF or FTE.

I have two. No FtF or FtE. They both feed anything I give them. Both are accurate to enough for what I am looking for in them. They aren't thousand dollar guns but for the price give excellent value.

And they retain their value.

I just picked up an NP-29 and the overall fit/finish is better than what I expected. The only thing on my particular gun is it came with an extended slide stop and safety that have sharp (as in OUCH!) edges. Nothing a quick pass with a file won't take care of!

I like the Norinco product, works just as good as my Colt!
Almost as perty too....:)

Liked it so much, had to have another....

I don't shoot them much, as I'm too lazy to pick up the brass...:D
For the money, they are a fantastic gun!

I have no complaints about my 1911A1. I've put about 800-1000 rounds downrange and things are starting to smooth out.:)

NAA--what trigger is that in your A1? Was it drop-in or did you have to do some grinding?

The triggers in my Norc NP-29 [1911A1 in 9mm] and the Norc-in-stein are the Videcki aluminum adjustable. When new, they have to be fit by slightly filing the top and bottom flats of the forward portion until it smoothly fits the cuts in the frame. It's a simple operation.

The trigger in the Norc compact [commander] I believe is a Chip McCormick. It did not require any further fitting to the frame as I received it.
