I'm looking for a 'drop in' replacement adjustable rear sight for my Norinco 1911 Sport (which has the factory adjustable rear sight) - does anybody know if LPA or Bomar BMCS rear sights fit the existing Norinco rear sight cut?

To take the original sight off, is it pushed the right or left. Any tips on easy removal of old, and new sight installation?
And hey Ganderite, can you narrow it down from "EVERONE", to who makes a Colt rear sight?:) Thanks.
No luck on E-Bay and Amazon. Or Marstar and TradeEx.

LPA does make a adjustable rear sight for Colt dovetails. When I removed my rear sight on my NP29 1911 it measured approximately .323". LPA offers 2 sights, one with a dovetail base width of approximately .320" and another model where the base base width is approximately .330".

I used my Brownells armorers block, wrapped the slide in that green easy remove masking tape, used a heavy 6" brass punch that I ground a square edge on, placed the block on the asphalt, set slide on block, set one foot on slide (tape the slide for this reason) used a regular 16oz hammer, whacked it 3 times and drove it out to the right. Very easy, the front sight came out really easy, it appeared they had put 6 tiny peen spots to hold it in. Practical Performance Products here in Canada carries parts from Fusion and can likely get you the LPA sight. The front sight dovetail is totally uncommon.

My Norinco is the version that has the slide milled away for low profile adjustable rear sights. This is the model:

My project is to build a wadcutter gun for bullseye so I'd like to get a better quality drop in replacement for the factory adjustable rear sight. I suspect a 1911 LPA TRT sight may be close in dimmensions to the factory Norinco rear sight - but maybe somebody on the Forum knows if there's a sight out there that fits with minimal slide mods.

Not sure of the dovetail dimensions on those models, I would remove it, measure it and compare with what's available. Example below, you will also notice the have a pic of the slide cut and dimensions.

Freedom Adventures can bring in sights from Dawson Precision,

Thanks for the links MET, the sight you picked is exactly what I'm looking for! FYI; I had e-mailed Kensight in December 2016 and they said no Canadian distributor. Printed the sight cut drawings from Kensight's website and put the dimmensions from my Norinco slide and sight on the drawing. Guess I'll have to call around next week or schlep the sight and slide to the local gun stores and endure the rejection...
