they are the same in the spam cans or the yellow box ... if you prepare for the zombies apocalypse , go whit the spam cans , they will be good almost forever , if you plan to shoot them in the next year or 2 go whit the yellow box , easier to carry ect ...

I think it's irrelevant if they are stored one way or another for long term storage. They've been sitting in either spam can or cardboard box for almost 9-10 years and near as I can tell, they still go boom when you pull the trigger.

For convenience, I think the yellow boxes are the way to go.

Which one is better and why?

Think of a spam can as a non reusable ammo can, keeps your ammo free of moisture transgression so its good forever in the worst conditions. Ammo without protection can corrode which compromises its reliability.

Have cases both ways no real difference all the same ammo shoots well, a little dirty.

It's well known and published the Nork ammo have hard primers and don't function well in bolt actions.

The spam can ammo is cleaner and less/no corrosion. However I have used both without issue.

My spam can has crimped primers, buddy's yellow box does not.

Spam can ammo is wrapped in paper. Not as re-usable or portable as the yellow boxes, but better for stocking up your bunker for zombie armageddon.

I'm looking for 1600 for $450 or less including taxes and shipping in the Calgary area. I missed out on the $400 + taxes/free shipping from canammo.

I think TSE has it for $440

I don't know about the yellow box, but I recently tested out the spam can ammo with my 14.5" AR. 10 rounds averaged 2920 fps.
