norinco 223 brass

Have some loaded rds and plan to reload these. Does anyone know if the primer is crimped ? Would have to ream them if they are.

I have seen the very odd ones that have 3 crimps each at 120° to each other. They are obvious when you see them. That said I've seen maybe 50 out of 3000 empty range brass cases I have seen.
Beware of loose primer pockets in Norinco. That is more an issue than crimp.

"stake crimp", that would be the term.

I have loaded thousands of Norinco cases. A very few have a stake crimp. The others have all performed well, but my load is about 80% of full power, since it is all shot at very close range.

Mine weren't crimped either. As theDuck says, some lots have loose primer pockets which will wreak havoc upon you!
