Norinco 7.62x51

If you want to get rid of the copper residue you can use any bore cleaner meant to remove copper fouling. I use butches bore shine copper remover outside (because of the smell) or if I have to do it inside, Hoppes benchrest copper fouling remover (slower but far less smell). The active ingredient that dissolves copper is ammonia so there will be at least some smell from it.

The M305 seems prone to this. The one I had I only ran brass cases through and had yellow colouration on the same areas. I sold it to my friend who shoots Norc ammo in it and it switched to brown/orange just like yours. Leaving it there wont hurt the rifle.

I've heard of people using Windex but it wont work for the same reason it doesn't do anything water can't for corrosive ammo residue; there isn't enough ammonia. Windex was 5% ammonia in 1989 but after that switched to 0.05% of a 28% ammonia solution ever since. So the ammonia content is closer to 0.014% actual ammonia.

It is actually very good ammunition. It may not be the most accurate in the world, but it is very good blasting ammo. Some folks have said that it really smells when you shoot it, but who knows what kind of corruption for gunpowder the chinese use for this stuff. All I know is that it goes bang everytime I pull the trigger. The orangish crap you are seeing is easily cleaned by a normal cleaning of your rifle. No worries.
