does anyone know if this ammo is corrosive at all, it does say non corrosive on box. I am thinking of only shooting non corrosive ammo, less cleaning..thanks

Any easy ways to confirm the ammo is Non corrosive ?

Remove the primer and detonate it over carbon steel and then expose it to moisture. Expose another piece of steel with no residue on it to the same moisture and see if the former rusts faster.

Here's a test I did on some 80s Chinese 7.62x39s that was advertised as non-corrosive. It was only 21 cents a round. It came in a crate with two spam cans. There were no boxes and no written declaration of non corrosiveness anywhere in the packaging. I still have the test nails under observation 2 weeks after performing the test. No signs of rust on them. I also added one more nail dipped in salt water and this one did rust.

thanks for the replies I just did the test, I did Barnaul, which I believe is non corrosive and the yellow box norinco, will reveal my results in 24 hours...

Or just clean your firearm proper

Corrosive ammo isn't some boogeyman that will melt your gun. And shooting non corrosive doesn't mean you don't have to clean it either.

Thanks for the reply, yes all guns need to be cleaned, didn t think it was the boogey man lol but I see cheap non corro. I would rather buy it if the price is rite??
