Norinco 870 finish versus AlumaHide II

Hi folks, my Norc 870 pump have a kind of black finish that tend to rust. I would like to refinish it and what I have on hand is AlumaHyde II. Do you think if I applied this finish over the current one, it will resist rust better?
I want to have opinion from people who actually use this product.

You need to clean bead blast and clean again or it will not last.
Also for best results. Wait a week after u paint eash part for the epoxy in the paint to fully cure and shrink
This way when you put parts together again they will fit

"...over the current one..." I'd be thinking of removing the old finish first too. Most likely just paint anyway.
