Hi all. I own a Norinco 1911A1 with some mods (Chip McKormack sights, Colt series 80 match barrel and bushing, full length guide rod and spring, beavertail safety, ambidextrous safety, and slick trigger job (2.4 lbs)). The question I am posing is why does the thing not feed hollowpoint ammunition? I have tried everything from Hornady to Speer Gold Dot. I can only get it to feed 230 grain FMJ. Pistol chambers the first round and only partially feeds the next and subsequent rounds. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

norc 1911

The factory Norinco barrel would probably have fed everything! They usually do.

Most likely the Colt barrel doesn't have the same throating. If the pistol were mine I would send it to Armco and they would completely check out the fit and it should function perfect when you get it back.

I agree, it should be a simple matter for a 1911 mechanic to get your 'rinco to feed everything. My only question for you is why did you install the Colt barrel? Both of my Norincos shot with Gold Cups right out of the box. Regards, Richard:D

Reason I put the Colt Barrel in is I was hoping that it would feed the HP's. Neither barrel I have will feed them. E-mailed Gunnar yesterday. May be shipping it off for his help.
