Looking for some help on deciding which AR 15 to get. I will only get the one AR for range shooting and such. Budget is under $1000 for the initial setup. Then of course I can customize it any way I want from there. Not a lover of the Chinese made weapons, but on the other hand I know guys who have the Norinco's and say they love them. Also stating they have never missed a beat.

After looking around I set my sights on a Smith and Wesson M&P 15 Sport, unfortunately can't find where to get one in Canada...

Any feedback would be really appreciated around this $1000 mark

Thanks

norinco is great for I have one and love it no problems at all, however had i been able to buy a North eastern arms one i would have, and I still will. gotta love canadian made AR, plus it comes standard with monolitic upper + rails and such where cq dont, for the extra couplehun bucks I think its worth it

So many topics like this.

Why is budget $1000? Then you will customize it?

Why not spend a couple hundred more and you will not have to do any extra work to it.

Spend the $1200 and get the Spikes Tactical L.E from Questar.
It is already upgraded. No extras needed.

You will pay $500 less for the Norinco but spend $600 or more 'upgrading it to the $1200 rifle you should have bought in the first place! :D

Did you try Lanzshooting supplies for M&P AR-15? I got one there awhile back. No issues with it at all. Plus you can bring it to the states for 3-Gun matches.

Personally I can't stand my buddy's m&p15 solely because it has no muzzle brake and it loud as hell.

Thanks all for some very quick replies here..I see what you mean about spending the $1200 and getting an all around better setup, definately an option. Going to look at the different things mentioned here.
