Hi everyone, been on this site for a long time but interest in black riflles has just began....mostly a hunting rifle interest before.

Is there any problems with Norinco CQ-A that would not make it suitable for a first black rifle?

Would it be better to just get a better rifle right off the start or???

I know almost nothing about black rifles so please forgive my ignorance until I get up to speed.

Thanks

Just buy one and shoot it.
They are having little to no problems. They may not be a refinded as some of the North American rifles, but they work and hit the target.
For the cost of a so called better rifle you can buy a Norinco and a cse of ammo.

The CQ-A is probably the best AR to introduce yourself to the black rifle. It is highly cost effective, shoots excellent, very reliable. Just the factory magazines suck.

Do all the aftermarket accessories fit the Norinco? Is it something you can play with or are you stuck with the factory configuration?

Thanks

It's a buddies rifle but we shoot the crap out of it.

As far as aftermarket stuff, there are a number of threads about the CQ-A, showing off different looks with different aftermarket hardware.

So I guess the answer is yes, you can tacticool it to the moon.

Norinco AR-15 Clones

Hello there. If I may be allowed to share my opinion. I have two Norinco ARs, an early CQ311 and a M-4 clone. Had a problem with the gas rings on the former (solved with the help of several knowledgable CGNers-many thanks guys:D) but have had no trouble at all with the M-4. I replaced the ugly original forend on the CQ-311 with an AR-15A2 forend but are otherwise as they were out of the box. As NavyCuda said, the factory mags suck but there are plenty of aftermarket options for that. Mine shoot straight, I have never had a stopage with the M-4 and none with the other since the gas ring issue was solved. As far as price goes, they cannot be beat. My advice is go ahead and buy one, I don't think you'll be disappointed:ar15:.

All the best,
Allan:wave:

PS: I have an M-305 (M-14) as well-no troubles there either:D

These are relatively new, and I would doubt anyone has a high enough round count to speak of the longevity or wear...still, the price is quite good for the Canadian market.
