norinco CQ barrel nut.. literally impossible to get off...

anyone else have any trouble removing their CQ/DA556 barrel nut? from what ive seen and read its supose to be 30-80 pounds on a barrel nut torque... I can go full body weight on this thing and it doesnt budge and im by no means a light weight. (using a UTG barrel wrench and a socket)

Try lube and heat. It’s not just a Canadian winter that can freeze nuts.

I can attest to this. Go to home depot and get a metal shaft. Extend the lever arm and increase leverage.

Try a good penetrating oil like Liquid Wrench or PB Blaster, not WD-40. As mentioned above heat can help, an electric heat gun may work and won't damage the finish. Sometimes a sudden jerk on the wrench helps as well rather than gradually applying pressure.

I had to go full hulk mode on my AR to remove the nut had to use a 24" pipewrench, it messed up the nut but those are easily replaced. I broke a tine off my AR wrench trying to remove it before getting mad and going big
