Can anyone remember what side the front sight pins on a norinco CQ? Right (ejection side) or left (Norinco logo side) come out?

I need to remove my sight base and have read it is a horror story with the Norinco.

Thank you

I've removed 3 of these on Norinco's and find its not that bad, helps to have the proper tool but hammer them out from the Norinco logo side.

So just to confirm the pins will exit through the non Logo side?

Yes...... But you are still going to hammer the hell out of it...

Good move on upgrading the Norinco as opposed to buying an NEA. I have built a few Norinco rifles in the past few years, all with good results. Just remember to get a good low profile gas block....

Here is my favorite Norinco build, I completed it last spring...

one side will be smaller than the other as its a taper pin, hammer the small side . I had to use the dremel after 6 broken punchs .....

Don't forget they're pressed in there with a nice big machine press, so they usually are pretty tough to come out. You're better off just cutting down the front sight post. Depending on what you want to do. You'll never get a better fitting gas block if you take it off.
